basics

I have decided that I need to re-invent my style, and re-jig the way I dress. A lot has changed over the last 8 months and I no longer want to dress in the same way as I used to. I want to dress in a classic, simple, no fuss way- concentrating on quality fabrics, simple silhouettes and comfortable, yet, sophisticated pieces. All this means investing (even though clothes are hardly an investment...) in items, which make me feel good and comfortable in my own skin. I don't want to show off my body, or draw attention to myself, other than to say I look effortlessly stylish (this would be the ultimate compliment).

Gone are my patterned pant days.

Anyway half of the items in this set are pieces I am seriously considering buying. In fact, check back in this time tomorrow, and I may just have purchased them (planning a shopping trip as we speak). These being the bag, dress and boots. The boots remind me a lot of these Acne numbers, which are kinda rad, but, I don't know, I think I actually like these a little better. Good thing too because they are a fraction of the price. The dress is very different to what I would normally wear. I have never delved into full length skirts before (I detest the word maxi) but think now may be the time to give them a try. Its lovely and comfortable too, which ticks some boxes. And, despite my continued searches, I have not found another black (affordable) bag, which I like better than this Status Anxiety one. Sure, I have found plenty of beautifully simple and elegant ones (which I love) but are so far out of my price range it is not even worth mentioning them. It do need another visit, however, before I completely make my mind up.

The other items in the set are just to fill the gaps really, but I am desperately in want of a VPL bra and how amazing is that Acne jacket- I die, I die, I die!

Clothing slash shopping aside, I have been riding a rather fun bircher fetish. So far I have sampled the goods at Monk Bodhi Dharma (probably my favourite haunt at the moment) and Top Paddock, both of which were seriously yum! I recommend them both! I have also started a new foodie job this week and am loving every moment of it! It feels so good to be working again.

ksubi paradise

My ksubi paradise tee arrive yesterday!
Annnnd it has taken me less than 24 hours to wear it. Definitely the mark of a successful purchase. I am really quite smitten with it- can you tell?

Seeing as I have committed myself to a tee-shirt and shorts summer, I feel less guilty about investing in some quintessentially summery tees. You really can't go wrong with palm trees can you?

I teamed my new favourite tee here with my Subtitled chambray pants. I am officially over tight jeans and these baggy numbers are so comfy, loose and cool.

In other news, I visit windsor smith today to try on these and these. I am happy to report that both are just as baben as they appear, and are joining my christmas wish list.

Recent purchases

One can never have too many T-shirts.

This is what I am telling myself anyway, after going a little mad and stocking up.
T-shirts are so easy to wear and can be used to throw an outfit together in minutes. I am all for easy dressing these days, and with the summer months coming, I don't want anything fussy. I'm thinking T-shirts and shorts and the occasional dress.

I think there is definitely something to be said about investing in some quality T-shirts and basically wearing them to death. That's my plan anyway!

These are my recent purchases...

ksuuuuu-biiiiii

I am becoming more and more obsessed with Ksubi. Save for there near-impossible to announce name and super-tramp ugly foot wear (those leopard print stilletos are literally vomit worthy) I am going crazy over their wares.

I stepped into their chapel street store today–greeted by the lovely spicy yet tropical scent of their epic scented candles and the eye-opening, gasp worthy discovery of so many divine clothes.

The dresses are one thing, but the singlets and tees are also just so fab.

I heart Ksubi.

oh, and just a by-the-by; i freakin hate top shop. it is an aesthetic nightmare crammed with disgustingly cheap and nasty scraps of clothing (if you can even call it that) which is both ill fitting and poorly made.

leave NOTHING to be desired

These two things have my mind doing backflips in envious anticipation and desire.

And, yes, i know– friendship bracelets are getting a bit old, but there is nothing more groovy than this taco-d version by lucy folk. it has been on my wish-list for over 4 months now, and with my birthday literally just around the corner, its day of reckoning may be nigh!

And in more recent desires, a tie-dye tee is a must must must. I am determined, however, to find one of these psychedelic creations en lieu in an opp shop, and not give in to the convenience and ease of this asos silk beauty (as tempting as online shopping is). The search has begun!

what is tickling your fancy today béb? would love to know!

kinda outfit post

what i wore to ride my bike down the street to buy pink grapefruits and apricots.

i then proceeded to make apricot jam and eat the grapefruit– yummo.

i did receive some questionable stares from the over-fifties and possibly made the teenage check-out lad a tad uncomfortable... no matter– the shorts are just too damn funky to remain unseen!

wrangler denim shirt
homemade funky shorts
wittner grandpa loafers– later changed for vans
