newbies

Just a little bit of post-Christmas shopping (made easier by my lovely new comme des garçons wallet). I am definitely not one for the ravenous boxing day sales, but a leisurely stroll and luncheon date with Mumma bear warrants such relaxed purchases.

Clockwise from left:

1. I am absolutely smitten with my Nike Roshes. After lusting over the black and white pair for weeks I suddenly flipped when I saw these red beauties. So vibrant!
2. The Gorman knit is a beautiful rendition of this Acne sweater which has been a hesitant must-buy of mine for the last couple of months. Only deterred by its rather scratchy feel. This one is definitely much more wearable though, and 100% super-soft Australian merino.
3. And here sitting pretty is my new wall-ét (pronounced with an appropriately snooty French accent– it did come from France after all!), a very well received Christmas present from aforementioned Mumma bear.

Recent purchases

One can never have too many T-shirts.

This is what I am telling myself anyway, after going a little mad and stocking up.
T-shirts are so easy to wear and can be used to throw an outfit together in minutes. I am all for easy dressing these days, and with the summer months coming, I don't want anything fussy. I'm thinking T-shirts and shorts and the occasional dress.

I think there is definitely something to be said about investing in some quality T-shirts and basically wearing them to death. That's my plan anyway!

These are my recent purchases...

ox blood

Ever since I saw these pictures of ultra babes Alexa Chung and Rumi (fashiontoast) wearing head to toe burgundy I have been rather infatuated with the shade.

This A. Wang leather skirt is at the centre of my infatuation...in all its über simple, leathery glory. I can just imagine the softness of the leather.

spring into action (i.e 2013)

i must admit i was not all that enthralled by the array of spring 2013 collections. despite my usual enthusiasm for fashion week's offerings, few designers had me feeling anything more than mild excitement.

alexander wang never fails to deliver, and the collection of laser cut, crisp white dresses and heady leatherwear was very much pleasing– albeit it rather expected, and a little lacking in refreshing juices (if you know what i mean).

stella mc cartney steered away from her previous vision of digital prints and floral explosions, presenting something all the more crisp and clean. the boxy silhouettes and lowered waist lines made for a rather masculine theme only to be challenged by the plunging v neck lines and dramatically split hemlines.

acne had me drawn in by the concept of layering loose fitting clothes with tailored, tighter pieces, and balenciaga's focus on box-like silohuette, and tissue-like skirts was also a source of inspiration.
